Part I: Welcome to Pillywold

The boy stared at the young girl. Her eyes glowed a slight green as she stared back at him. They, her eyes, seemed brighter than they had been before in prior days, but this could have easily been attributed to the contrast of her luminescent eyes and the pitch black of the midnight setting. Prior to this encounter, the boy had only seen the girl during the day when the sun had been out to light the sky. Even then, her eyes had seemed eerie to him.

“How did I get here? I used to be a boy of wonder. I used to play Cowboys & Indians with my friends. Now, I don’t even know who I am anymore. What did you do to me?”

For a moment, the girl stared and then blinked. Her light pink lips pressed together as they made a partial-frown. “I didn’t do anything. You sought me out. You found me.”

And she was right. That may have been the worst part. She was right.
